Bountiful

The Crabapples, were not very big this  year, I picked enough to make a small batch of Jelly.  Left the rest for the late fall birds to enjoy.
More sugar than juice. Just the perfect amount.
We have had an gorgeous fall this year.  The leaves turned then stayed for a few weeks. Can you smell that smell? The earthy rich tang of the leaves as they begin to say goodbye and the trees sleep the winter away.
I planted this Crabapple tree,  the first year we lived here one of two. 20 springs ago. It was just a stick back then, maybe 7 feet tall. It has been beautiful in all seasons.  We were married in high summer between the two...Hmmmmm wonder if that was foreshadowing.....
PS I had help finding the crabapples. He is such a good boy! Check out the nonchalant way he pretends he doesn't know what I'm talking about when I asked him 'What do you have?'
