Gelli Plates Nailed It !

I need a mono printing plate. After much research on purchasing a plate. I deduced that they were very expensive. I did however come across more than one recipe on google and pinterest for making my own.
 I am that person who will try it once for sure. It took me some time to find the gelatin at the grocery store. {The clerk told me I looked tired and usually old people are looking for it....but, that's a whole other tale.} I assemble all the ingredients. Directions I found were simple, Dissolve gelatin in rubbing alcohol, add hot water
 Place on a cookie sheet lined with plastic wrap. I did that, being careful not to breath in the fumes from the rubbing alcohol...then walked away. As you can see
 'I NAILED IT'
Total saved wasted on do it myself $8.oo about 1/4 the cost of a real plate...sigh
{next time I will use vodka, and cherry jello, at least then I can eat the evidence and feel better}
Undaunted, I press on to the next project, coffee and tea stain art..I don't want to keep anyone up with anticipation, but, stay tuned......

EDIT: I am linking this with Annie's Friday Smiles, week 69 read all about it HERE

this post cracked me up, thanks! I´ve been watching some videos about DIY gelli plates but decided to buy one nevertheless, and I didn´t regret it ...

I finally found you. It took awhile, but I'm glad I did. I've seen several people who have made these faux gelli plates, but I have wanted one for over three years. I finally broke down and bought a real one at Christmas. They are definitely not the same as a gelatin plate, but once I use it more, I'm sure I'll really enjoy it.

I hope your coffee and tea stains work out better for you. I've been playing with tea stains lately, too, and you look like you are having fun with them.

Happy belated Friday Smiles.
