WHERE BLOGGERS CREATE #3

Welcome and thank you
Karen Valentine
from My Desert Cottage for hosting

THIS IS WHERE I CREATE
Welcome to My Secret Room, My Happy Place
Where imaginations run wild
and the fairy's come to  play...
My name is Pam or Fairyrocks
This is a new space for me.
It has slowly evolved through much
drywall, mud, dust, dreams and paint
it is finally ready for the debut....
.... As with most spaces it will be added
to over time. I started this project about 2 months ago.
Previously the spare room...the forgotten  catch all,
the place where mismatched luggage, old stereos
and forgotten hat collections go to wait for the
hoarders intervention team to show up
....but that's an entirely different tale..
We had to gut it completely down to the
bare studs so I could have more plug ins
and lights. Take my word for it when I tell
you it has come a long way.
I am a visual sorter, this means
I need to see it to remember I have it and be inspired
A cabinet to display some pieces
and house a treasure or two
the work desk
drafting and equipment table
with inspiration board above
The Jewel corner
Meet 'Alice', she is a dress form and no dummy
Look for  a post dedicated to her next week.
My  sweet 6 year old granddaughter
 decorated her,  thanks 'Littlefoot'
Eventually there will  be a table to
stitch a fine seam at or have
'You' over to play?
Antique windows courtesy of Steve's Mom and Dad
Thank you so much!!!
Ribbon rack, this is what it was in its previous life
Thanks Mom

This is not in my room yet,
but it will be here soon to keep
Alice busy when I am not around.
This is one of my Dad's
original leather sewing machines.
It is solid iron
 It has no electric component,
being run by the treadle and wheel.
I sometimes think I learned my love of
sewing from him.
My dad was left handed as a child I could sit for
hours and just watch him work.
The wheel whirling needle going
up and down in a gentle steady chinking rhythm,
I credit my ability to see something,
make a pattern to duplicate it from him.
More storage and a very large closet
space that this bookshelf hides....

Thank you Romeo for all your hard work
Thank you 'Sassy Baby' for photographing my room

Thank You Karen Valentine for hosting

That second photo really captured me -- totally what I'd loooove to have in not only my office space but my new library in the living room. SHELVES. Can't fill them fast enough -- or rather, I AM, so I need MORE!

LOVE your space.

I hope you'll have time to visit mine!

I LOVE your space, Pam! From the cabinet in the beginning of the post to your Alice! That cabinet is just stunning and what a great storage piece. I'm so jealous! I have to keep you in mind for when I eventually get my own space, instead of an area in the garage. I am also like you with the visual thing. If I don't see it I forget all about it! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
