I have long admired these little genius fire starters
No denying how pretty and handy they will be, Especially since the weather is turning and our furnace is NOT WORKING AGAIN...
I think you will agree that I NAILED THIS ONE TOO!!
Thank You Pinterest for all the inspiration and how to's
Disclaimer- I did NOT do the beautiful samples. Click on the photos to follow the link to the real entrepreneur's of fire starting with fashion.
First I gathered together all the dry coffee filters {they go up like roman candles} and various nut shells, bits of birch bark, wood chips coffee and tea grounds etc.
Melted the ugliest old candle in a pot...on a very dirty stove, by the looks of things. But, alas I am being real. I do not have a maid, and do fail at times to get the last mess cleaned up before making a new one.
Pour the hot wax onto the carefully arranged filter pile.
I figure one tablespoon should be enough. I let them sit for a minute before scrunching them up to hold a shape. I think we will all know what I mean when I shout 'NAILED IT'...

of course you nailed it! I'd expect no less... just wish I had a fireplace to try one out
What a cool project! I bet they smelled really good when you burned them, too. :)
Thank you so much for leaving your sweet and supportive comment on my blog. I'm overwhelmed by the kindness of others.
Pam, these are GENIUS! And my god how I admire the real-life photo - PEOPLE LIVE HERE, it doesn't look like a magazine. I can just imagine the lovely homey smell when you burn these :)
