Gift Bag Technique Tuesday

Its my turn to show you a little 'How To'
Gifting season is upon us, Whether it is Halloween Treat Bags or Christmas Gift Bags. Today I will show you how to take a single piece of 8-1/2" x 11" paper to make your choice of a closed or open gift  bag. You choose what you like to decorate with. I started out making a card and ended up with the card front decorating this little gift bag.

This is the scoring guide layout for your sheet of letter size paper. Do your score lines, then fold along the marked lines. Once you have it all folded, see the diagram below to guide you. NOTE: the 2 " score lines can be easily marked by folding the center  fold toward the 'fold to inside line'. This is your pocket.
Play with the side fold closure to form an open or closed effect.

To decorate this bag I used my newest embossing folder 'Reindeer', embossed on sturdy white cardstock. Then trimmed it to fit the bag front, matting with dark blue cardstock. The inset was made by stamping the image with dark blue, running it through the same folder with the portion that appealed to me in the window area. I then carefully cut it out, applied diamond glaze and adhered in the space after it was dry. The whole piece is decorated with white stickles and accented with liquid pearl. Punch two holes through all of the closed top layers. Fill with your goodies or gift card. Run a ribbon through the holes and you have a nice little gift box or bag. Add a tag to personalize.
