10 Things...THANK YOU CANADIAN SCRAPBOOKER

I was lucky enough to have Canadian Scrapbooker pick up one of my layouts. It was based on their fall call out for a page with
'10 Things You Didn't Know About Me'
Yeah!! here is the Layout:  I was so surprised to see an entire page, now I have no secrets.
The Fall  magazine is FULL of great things get yours today.

Here is the walk through:
This is an interactive layout.
All the file cabinet drawers open to the left hand side when you pull them.
This Kaiser paper was just begging me to cut it apart and make the drawers open
First up was printing 10 things about me,
 that were not entirely boring..

I used an X-acto blade to cut carefully around each  file box. Then made an opening in the background page the exact size of the cabinet. I fashioned the rest of the cabinet to look as if it was one 3 dimensional piece. As shown above, this is the back of the piece that the drawers will fit into. Using the chipboard mounted things about me, I stapled a ribbon to the inside edge of each, then ran the ribbon so it could pull out the entire distance to one side. {make sure and secure the outside edge of your ribbons} Carefully lay them out making sure all the pieces are readable, because you will be working from the back.

.I used a piece of plastic layout sleeve in between the layers to allow them to move freely.
Every cabinet needs a stack of books, thanks Rhiannon for helping me with the book sketch. These were first sketched to scale, then they were assembled with bits and scraps. The books actually have pages. About the photo snippet, the kids refer to that look as my 'crazy eyes' LOL but its all I had at the time. Believe me there is much no one knows about  me, most  of it dull. Well except for the witness protection type things that I could tell, but then you would have to disappear...possibly Soprano style....

I have been busy trying to fix up our garage. This is now on the floor of the landing

WOOHOO! Way to go, Pam! This is AWESOME and I love how you created the little secret panels - just too clever. And of course it needed a full page!
