Simply Smashing !!

I discovered this idea recently

in a very old Somerset Magazine

The article talked about groups of women

getting together and 'smashing'

Even though it was very close to the

end of the flower season I just had to try it

DISCLAIMER- if you try this and like it,

you maybe come addicted

'no bouquet no matter how nice will be safe'

I feel better having warned you now.

I suppose you want to know how??

Okay to do this you will need:

Hammer

papertowel or absorbent cloth

cement floor

{this is not my floor, I only wish it was}

I used my basement floor

or you could use a good sturdy

table

a selection of flowers and leaves

I used garden flowers, each type transfered

a little differently so have fun and experiment

Watercolor paper and an old magazine

METHOD:

~Working on your solid surface or cement floor

~NOTE- I use an old magazine between the floor and project

~Choose your flower

~Position it face down on your watercolor paper

~Place your paper towel over the back of flower

~ Doing your best to keep flower in place, grab that

   hammer and start smashing, watch your fingers

   you don't have to hit very hard, just make sure you

   smash every bit of flower down

~try smashing on canvas or fabric

~I left mine to dry thoroughly

~If there are bits of flower left on your

  project gently flake them off after it drys

~play around with your layers, here are some more sample

  of the results of my 'SMASHING SESSION'

positioned  doing greenery first then flower

with names to give you a heads up

the purples and reds seemed to transfer the nicest

I didn't have any pansy left in my garden, but

am thinking they would transfer like the violets

with almost photo clarity
