I have been inspired by the many forms of

this message board I have seen.

I thank you to whomever came up with

the idea first. I am thinking of making

it into a class....the title could just as easily say

"Give What You Can"

So, I hope you are able to spend some time

to give and take with those you love this month.

And if you ever visit me in real life you will

be able to 'take' whatever I have to 'give'.

I created it so that I can keep refilling the little tags.

I have posted this on the 7-Gypsies facebook page

7 Gypsies was one of the very first companies,

I learned to seek out when I first started scrapbooking

and learning to alter things.

Enchanted- Showcase Monday

At Scrapbookers Paradise

We were married on Valentines Day

We just didn't know it at the time.

{We chose July 07, 2007 to finally just do it.

We found out later that year that July 7th

is also a second Valentines Day in China.

To be married also in the 7th year

of the 7th month

on the 7th day

is extremely good luck in China }

.....I know this might seem like a long way to get there,

{desperate times call for desperate measures}

but, we have not taken the 'Honey Moon' we promised

each other.... big hints here...again.....

Pebbles Chalk

Is this weeks Feature Product at

Scrapbookers Paradise

First I ran a fairly smooth piece of white card stock

with an emboss plate through the cuttlebug

Then I used the pearls to color the bamboo stalk and leaves

each chalk color has 2 shades

I was very pleased with the results

It took less than 5 minutes to color

I smoothed it with a Tsuneko art stick

Its hard to tell by the photo , but the chalk

has a very high shine the darker you put it on.

So I thought I would try and color the background

with some glimmer spray mist.

Because the chalk repells it the background

took the color but the bamboo remained just as it was colored

Sweet Somethings....

As Promised here is the inside of this perfect little

Maya Road Butterfly Album
all dressed up with Sweet Nothings Paper
and starring my Sweet Something
Children and Grandchildren

I cut the envelope out and backed it so it made an actual

envelope. Then I glued the ribbon down first

and the envelope to centered on top.

When ever I do a mini, I 'wall paper' all of my pages

first as a base. I glue the chipboard with a good

liquid glue, then place it on my pattern paper

and cut around the shape using a blade knife.

and good quality cutting mat.

This envelope is from the Maya Road collections.

They are Kraft paper and lend themselves easily

to distressing. They are a quick effective way

to add just a little bit more to your project.

I loved using the Kaiser Kraft

Sweet Nothings Paper

for this little album. The paper is a

muted vintage combination of colors and pattern

The soft feel will lent itself nicely to my sepia tone photos

My First Page in this Art Journal Class

The glue is still drying on this literally,

but I had to post it. I am not a primary color girl,

so I am pushing myself out of that comfort zone...

using baby steps with the markers.

The finished page {I am sure we will be adding more}

is much different than I thought

it would be. I started with 2 colors, brown and blue

This is what I ended up with

I chose:

"It Is Just A Day In Your Life"

as my beginning phrase.

I have used this with my children on numerous

occasions. I always tell them, "No matter What

happens today, it is up to 'You' to decide what

kind of a day you are going to have.

It is just one day in your life, so you can choose

to enjoy every moment or not. But, tomorrow

you will get up and you will decide

What kind of a day it will be."

So, Today 'I' choose to have a Happy Day

and I hope you do too.

Soar Butterfly Album

The Covers:

I punched out the butterfly wing bits

and covered the chipboard first with

a base coat of white gesso, then

used my paints from my stash

till I got the desired color.

I highlighted the edges and parts with

Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Copper

and Private Meadow

It adds interest with an opague shiny sheen.

I love this product by Tattered Angels

I even covered the little chipboard tag and

glossy accented a cameo for a 3-D embellishment

I left the wing bits in for the back piece and

was overall very happy with the effect.

The gorgeous angel is from the embellishment

package. Kaiser sure puts a nice product together.

A Trip to Far Far Away

The title is the emboss 'China' on the paper

I chose this beautiful Best Creations 'China' paper

to help me document our trip. Some years

ago we were lucky enough to be able to travel with

the school band to China. 'The Wall' moments

were for me a once in a lifetime experience.

China Glitter was my base paper

Hanhgzou Glitter I only used the very top

of this beautiful paper . I hand cut the bamboo

leaves out and placed them on my photos.

The long shot photo of the wall is actually

two identical photos that I cut 'the wall' out of

in layers and then pop dotted over the base photo

to add dimension to the layout.

I used Black Gesso to stamp and distress

the edges of this layout. I will create something

with the bottom of this soon. I mean I only took

about 1000 photos in China.

The black silk in the bottom corner is a piece

off a yard goods I purchased at a market. I cut the edge

to also echo the shape of the stairs on the wall.

The chopsticks and the journal paper are also

ephemera and trinkets from the trip.

In our house it's no secret I want a

tropical vacation

When I saw this wonderful Graphic-45

Travelogue Paper, and case,

I knew I had to start a 'wish box album'

G-45 paper, just begs me to cut it apart

I did a lot of hand cutting to
decorate the outside.

A box to hold the treasures of my one day

holiday!! Now that is organization!!

A Fairy Door !!

As the photo states, this is what you get in the class.

This photo is the back view of the wood after I cut the window in

How often have I dreamed

of discovering the door to

the hidden Faerie Lands?

Countless hours of daydreaming....

It is a work in progress and does take a bit of planning

and a whole lot of scraping and gouging.

This is the outside of the piece, it will eventually have

hinges and be covered in a coat of varnish to

bring out the patina in the wood.

This is the doors opened up to see the wee Fae library

that awaits the reader of magical spells, potions

and Fairy Tales of course.

Still I am hopeful it may some day look like

the instructors piece below

Joanne, thank you so much for signing

us up for this class. I didn't even know I needed to

do this till you showed me how......

P.S. I would be remiss, if I didn't warn you to never

eat the treats they offer, if you find yourself in the land of fairy.

That is of course unless you want to stay forever in the vale...

Meet 'Sweet Marie'

Meet my sweet 'Kaiser' girl Maire

She is my Showcase Monday Project

at Scrapbookers Paradise Today

Initially I thought this would be the back of

the display, but after I made it , it just seemed to be the front

and this is the back

Can't you just see her as the center piece on your table

display. You could dress her for the seasons.

You could make several themed forms for special events

Click Kaiser dress forms to find them

For this project I used the solid dress form

I will be using the airy form with ribbons

and flowers

I hand cut the large roses out of the paper

in several layers. I spritzed them with water

to manipulate and popped them up with 3-D

glue dots to give them some dimension.

The tiny roses I cut apart the same roses

in a circular manner. Spritzed with water

to help soften the paper and then wound

them back into tiny rosettes.

I was able to get 3 from one large rose.

The little accordion folded piece is the border

off of the larger sheets of this paper

I used Wild Honey Stain to color

the form and then stamped with

a tiny newspaper stamp from my stash

It would also look great with a musical

note or script stamp

I used the Vintage Lace Die

to cut the frilly parts of the skirt

I love this new die, it is so delicate and pretty

I know I will be able to use it for many projects

I also used some of my older spell binder die

and just cut them apart to fit for the skirt bottom.

This was a fun project and is fairly fast to do.

The little kids are growing up right before

Day's spent tending the gardens, because I want them to say

A New Tool for you to Win

Bazzill Sanding tool to demo / play with.

It looks like an embellishment, and adds a touch

of useful bling to my workshop room.

It was made to specifically for

use on your Core'dinations paper.

I loved the shape, it has a great grip

that fit nicely in my hand.

The flower shape allowed me to sand into the

corners easily. For this project I ran some through

my trusty cuttle bug cutter and emboss.

I also highlighted the raised sanded

edges {see Live Love Laugh} with Black TH Ink.

The sanded surface grabs the color quickly.

So, get out that wonderful

core'dinations paper you are hoarding and

sand away the top layer to reveal the treasure

that waits beneath.

The Bazzill Sanding tool has replaceable sandpaper pads

I would recommend picking up a few spares keeping

one for dark top Core'dinations and one for light

colored Core'dinations.

Bo Bunny- Snowfall

Bo Bunny has created this spectaclar

sparkle filled Snowfall paper. It was just perfect for this

LO I did for my spot today on Scrapbookers Paradise

I love working with very large photos.

The secret to this one is.... I cut the back out of

the base paper. I mean, can you blame me?

This also allows for easier placement of the layers

as I can slip things under and glue them in place.

Look at all the things you can do with the scraps

I purchased this little naked light up house last year.
Well it was suppose to be a church, but I made it
into a Chocolate House
It is just so cute done up with the scraps
and some stickles

Thanks to my very talented friend Rita for her wonderful

work and reminding me I had these.

I made this quick little Domino ornament from

the scraps of my layout project

I was inspired to try these little beauties by my

friend Laura at Artfully Musings

The edges of the Dominos are done with double sided tape

and fine glitter

A little Gift Card I did for Scrapbookers Paradise

This little gift card can hold any small drink packet or even actual gift cards.

In this project I used

The following:

I made the base from a heavy weight card stock

and actually did a mock card first. This can

be changed up with any pattern paper for

a number of occasions. I made this one to hold

tea. But, it will even fit actual gift cards.

I liked it so much I had to dig out some of my old papers

and make more

And we can't forget about Dad

I used Tim Holtz Christmas craft paper stack

I cut out the letters behind the photos

and used them for the tittle

glimmer mist in Tattered Traveler as well as Red Velvet

Happy Birthday Candice

Candice 29 years ago yesterday you refused to be born

I spent an entire day in the hospital being poked and

prodded.....walking....walking....still no baby.

So, they sent me home to do what all anxious mothers

to be do, and cry. That was my first indication that

whatever you do would be your idea. So, it was with

much pain and great joy that you arrived 29 years ago

today!. I remember being so surprised you were a girl.

I had the boy names picked out and everything.

At that time your Great Grandpa Colosimo

was in the extended care wing of the hospital.

As soon as I was up, I took you for him to see.

The nurses had told him he was a Great Grandpa

of a bouncing baby girl, and he couldn't

have been more proud. You were a healthy little

bundle. He told me the story of Italy and how

when a baby is born, the bigger the baby

the happier everyone was.

We were very, very, very happy with you.

He also said when a baby is born they cry tears

of joy as well as tears of sorrow

for the life they will have to live and the trials

they will have to overcome.

So, through all the tears and all the joy of your

growing up years, in the end

you make me proud to be your mom every day.

The woman you have grown into

is smart, generous and beautiful.

Conspiracy Theory.....

I am not one to normally feed into

or even really believe in some

of the main stream conspiracy theories...

No matter how well documented or presented

But, last year...that's right, I have waited an entire

year to explode this deeply disturbing conspiracy....

{please read this in its entirety you might think you

know where I am headed...but, I beg you just read it all}

I stumbled upon the truth ...

Let me start with all things familiar to us:

Santa Clause, Father Christmas...

So, as per the legend he and his elves...

Spend all year long in the workshop

Creating with intricate care toys

for all the good girls and boys

I need to say here I BELIEVE in Santa

I mean how can you not?

When you see this ancient petroglyph

Santa is REAL

Santa has highly trained reindeer that guide his sleigh through

the winter sky's on the eve of December 25th

They deliver the gifts it has taken them all year to make.

As a child I would peer into the indigo vastness and

one time I actually thought I saw the sleigh...

Brace your self now for the ugly truth....

I don't even want to write it down it is so horrible

really...

but..

I think someone has to come out with it

Parents all over the world are amassing store bought

toys and convincing their children Santa brings them...

I know this is hard to take in....shattering in an

almost too difficult to wrap ones mind around kind of way.

I mean poor Santa,

dreams up all those fantastic toy ideas,

and immediately there are knock offs

for sale everywhere.

If you think this might not be true...I challenge you,

to do this. The next time you are

at the house of a friends with small children,

who believe...'poor little trusting souls'...

I picked 'Plate Music Notes' to ~~work~~ play with

First I tried several inks and used scraps of paper

to see how they went through my Cuttlebug
These plates are a lovely and thick one piece die

I was able to use it to imprint on molding paste as you can see by my last example on this photo.

They create a really deep pattern.
If I were to do that again, I would let the paste dry

a little longer so it doesn't lift the top layer off the paper.

For my project I used the emboss sample which is first on this sheet

The Sizzix Letter Press and carefully cut the top off of

an empty American Craft Ribbon Spool

For the embossing, I ran it through the Cuttlebug

After much experimenting the sandwich that worked for me

was:

'A' plate

Letter Press Die preinked with watermark

Paper Strip

Felt spacer

'B' plate

Run it through the machine, then emboss with your

choice of embossing powder

A sprinkle of G45 and Kaiser Paper

Maya Road mini spool and charm

strung though with Canvas Corp twine

trimmed up with Prima Bulk Ribbon

Copic Carry Case

I made this holder for my Copic Collection

I love it, I can just roll it up to carry

The little bag on the end can hold refills or whatever

It stands on its own too

The canvas was another 'picked item' from my

Dad's oldest Pack shed.

It is extremely heavy and would

have been used to patch tents. Not the Namby Pamby

tent you buy at the hardware stores now. But the original

mountain man tents. It was just the right size for this

project. I will be decorating it at some point.

Right now it makes me smile, I like it just the way it is.

We are pretty banged up

but it could have been so much worse...

Today I am thankful for ;

~SEAT BELTS, WE ALWAYS USE ~

~WE DRIVE A 4 x 4 TRUCK~

~I HAD THE WINTER TIRES INSTALLED~

~I WASN'T OVER DRIVING THE ROAD~

~QUICK POLICE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE~

~THE OTHER DRIVERS ARE OKAY~

I am also thankful that the other
three kids that were suppose to be with me
were home sick or had other things to do.
Otherwise I would have had two kids in the front with me.
I am so lucky to have a daughter who just drops
whatever she is doing to come and get us.
I am thankful she is the type of girl that has
good friends that loan their vehicle at the drop
of a hat. Today, we are so thankful.

I love this truck I am thankful it took the hit for us

I have 3 bags and 9 hanging pocket creations

to take to market this weekend

and quite a mess to clean up!!

I had to drive the children to school this morning

I was very cranky they missed the bus we do live

quite a ways out. Picked up my sweet 'littlefoot'

she is not feeling well and her mom has to work

On the drive home, I caught a glimpse of something in

the ditch about to run in front of me. It was low and

blended in with the brown grass of the ditch.

It was a

Cougar

I got slowed down and it looked me right in the

A magnificent wild animal

We call them Mountain Lions here

Sightings are rare. I was stunned and awed by

the sleek beauty as it ran across the road in front of me

I feel so lucky to have witnessed this crossing

I just keep thinking how absolutely beautiful it was.

All muscle, sleek sinewy elegance,

the look made my heart pound, it was a challenge

'I am wild and will never be tamed,'

I was thinking but what would it be like to try....

...and then, I was thinking I'll bet that's how my 'Romeo' felt

when he first saw me.....that's right cougar got you Romeo!!

The Wicked Witch !!

When my two youngest daughters were

about 3 and almost 5 years old we

had just moved into a new house.

Things were chaos and we were always

very busy, well they were busy

{this is code for always getting into something}

I was lucky enough to find 2 rather

huge brass kettles at a yard sale

they really are quite large. They were very

tarnished and I was toiling to clean them up

with a very messy lemon and salt solution

Anyhow, dear daughter Rhiannon who was 3, comes by and

is nattering and bugging and wanting a snack

tattling on older sis and all that.

Then she looks and she says

"What are you doing that for"

as she peers into the pot that comes almost

up to her neck.

.....so, I take a minute and look at that sweet little

face and I say..."Well I am cleaning it out,

its pretty big isn't it?" she nods

Then I put on my best Wicked Witch's voice and I say

"And I think You My Pretty and your big
Sister will fit right in!!!"

She looks at me, her eyes get HUGE

then she SCREAMS in a voice I had

never heard.....

"Santanna...she's gonna cook us and eat us"

Then she takes off running to find her sister.

We still laugh about that one.

Simply Smashing !!

I discovered this idea recently

in a very old Somerset Magazine

The article talked about groups of women

getting together and 'smashing'

Even though it was very close to the

end of the flower season I just had to try it

DISCLAIMER- if you try this and like it,

you maybe come addicted

'no bouquet no matter how nice will be safe'

I feel better having warned you now.

I suppose you want to know how??

Okay to do this you will need:

Hammer

papertowel or absorbent cloth

cement floor

{this is not my floor, I only wish it was}

I used my basement floor

or you could use a good sturdy

table

a selection of flowers and leaves

I used garden flowers, each type transfered

a little differently so have fun and experiment

Watercolor paper and an old magazine

METHOD:

~Working on your solid surface or cement floor

~NOTE- I use an old magazine between the floor and project

~Choose your flower

~Position it face down on your watercolor paper

~Place your paper towel over the back of flower

~ Doing your best to keep flower in place, grab that

hammer and start smashing, watch your fingers

you don't have to hit very hard, just make sure you

smash every bit of flower down

~try smashing on canvas or fabric

~I left mine to dry thoroughly

~If there are bits of flower left on your

project gently flake them off after it drys

~play around with your layers, here are some more sample

of the results of my 'SMASHING SESSION'

positioned doing greenery first then flower

with names to give you a heads up

the purples and reds seemed to transfer the nicest

I didn't have any pansy left in my garden, but

am thinking they would transfer like the violets

with almost photo clarity

The Tin Mans Head

I think it might be copper, still has some oil residue inside

This is from the rigging of a Clidesdale team. It seems to be

plated with brass {just a guess}

After I polish it, I should be able to know for sure

If I can stop the wood crumbling

I will use it for a banner display or picture hanger.

I am open to hearing anyones ideas on how to do that?

This piece has been laying outside in a heap with an old sleigh type base {no wheels just runnners}

It would have been winter transportation

AND the Cookie Jar!!!!!

I cannot even tell you how many batches of cookies

were stored in this Green clay jar.

If anyone is a collector, I would love to hear any

information you might have about this type of jar.

It is about a foot high and has USA stamp on

the underneath

Canadian Picker.......and 10,000 Hits?

Last weekend was a beautiful sunny fall day.

I decided to ring my mom up and go for a visit.

She has several sheds, and I do mean sheds

full of collections of whatever did not fit in

the house anymore. Some things have been in them for over

50 years now. The roofs are caving in

and she is finally ready to let me have a peak.

We always called this one the 'Nordegg House'

after the ghost town it was hauled from.

They had to wait for the river to freeze so

they could get it across and back on the road.

In those days the bridges were too narrow to accommodate a house on skids. It traveled over 50 miles to its new home.

And has been right where my parents set it down ever since.

I don't know about the family that lived there before it was abandon.The coal mine closed down and hundred of families had to move. I do know the house had one bedroom a kitchen and a living room.

That's it, no indoor during those days either.

Over the years it has housed chickens, extra lumber,

the treasures selvaged from my grandparents burning house.

A lot of memories mostly. And maybe that is what my

trip to the 'farm' was actually about. A chance for

my mom tell me the stories and let the memory

live one more time. Like all good ~~hoarders~~

keepers of the memories, I hold these tales close

to me, like a hug from the people who lived,

loved and are lost to me forever now.

They helped shape the world I live in today.

Some of the tales, I do remember bits and pieces of.

Some give me insight into a time forever gone.

Some things I am happy are gone.....

Trips here in the middle of the night were

never my favorite.

I will share some of the goodies I found soon.

I am also approaching the 10,000 hits mark.

So, if you love old things and ephemera like I do,

Autumn..

is where I am heading...

It showed up quite suddenly one day

It began with a slight change in the color of my hair.....

I think I knew it had arrived when I started to view the young people I see

with a certain wistful ahhhh, they don't know how beautiful they really are.

Fall is holding my grandchildren

and trying not to cry as I realize how precious they are and how time passes all too quickly

I am watching the leaves turn.....how long this fall may be,

only the wind and frost know for sure

Youth has fled and life has left

lines of wisdom and scars on my body and soul

I know who I am and what I am capable of doing

I take responsibility for where I have been

and what I have done.

I lean towards the very busy...

I always have several plans

and projects in the working stage

I will never be bored or without something to do.

A girl can always go shopping after all.

I am getting to the point of having to let go of the

things I planned to do but have not....

There is some freedom in letting go

MEET ALICE

I first set eyes on her in the back room

of a crowded little antique store

My heart beat quickened

and I knew she was going to be coming home with me.

I tried to see if the store owner would deal

.......just a little bit on the price.

But, alas you cannot put a price on a good friend.

She has at least 3 layers of carefully hand sewn mock outfits.

They are literally sewn on her.

I would love to take them off

and wash them, but, that would ruin her overall patina.

So, I must be content to just dress her and enjoy her

quiet presence in my space.

I don't know anything about her history except where she

was previously someone smoked....she does have that smell

If you have any ideas how I could clean her without damaging

the delicate old cotton top, I am up to trying it?

Her body under the dress has a tight knit covering,

She has an iron rod up her center and finial for a topper

Her cast iron legs say she was made in Toronto, Canada.

If anyone knows anything about dress forms ?

My name is Pam or Fairyrocks

This is a new space for me.

It has slowly evolved through much
drywall, mud, dust, dreams and paint
it is finally ready for the debut....

.... As with most spaces it will be added

to over time. I started this project about 2 months ago.

Previously the spare room...the forgotten catch all,

the place where mismatched luggage, old stereos

and forgotten hat collections go to wait for the
hoarders intervention team to show up

....but that's an entirely different tale..

We had to gut it completely down to the

bare studs so I could have more plug ins

and lights. Take my word for it when I tell

you it has come a long way.

I am a visual sorter, this means

I need to see it to remember I have it and be inspired

and house a treasure or two

This is one of my Dad's
original leather sewing machines.
It is solid iron
It has no electric component,
being run by the treadle and wheel.
I sometimes think I learned my love of
sewing from him.
My dad was left handed as a child I could sit for
hours and just watch him work.
The wheel whirling needle going
up and down in a gentle steady chinking rhythm,
I credit my ability to see something,
make a pattern to duplicate it from him.

The first Poppy of the season

This poppy grows stronger every year

she clings to a literal crack between the bricks

in our back garden.

I would love to move her to a better location.

But, I do believe she is where she needs to be

to survive and brighten our summer days.

I will say she certainly does wear that red

dress like no other I have seen.

She is in the company of 27 more

potential blooms. That is a record number !!

You would have been 41 today. It has

been 16 years since we last laughed and talked.

I miss you always. Only you would have appreciated

the irony that like Elvis's fans, I will not forget you as

long as I have breath and brain.

Born on Dominion Day, July 1, 1970

I so wanted you to be called Dominic.

My youngest brother, the one I almost felt like a

mother to at times. You would be so proud of your

nieces Angella and Candice. They are mothers now

and doing a wonderful job of it. Your great nephews

and nieces would have made you laugh.

I also have two younger girls, so you would

have been uncle 4 times.

You would love them too.

This is my other work desk, the one I have never shared.

This is where I plan and create the memorial stones.

I have a small one on my desk right now.

It is covered to protect the privacy of the family

that has commisioned me to do it.

I am planning a New Blog that will headline

the stone work I have done. Kind of an eclectic

thing to do. I love what I do and not many

people know very much about the stone

carving business....

IT IS INTERNATIONAL FAIRY DAY

I have always had a special place in my

heart for the tiny forest folk known as Faery

My earliest memories are of searching always

on the moss side of trees for a sign.

They will build their magical homes beneath
the shade of the oldest trees,
where the sweet scent of forest leaf and mist collide.

I searched faithfully under rocks and

toad stools to find a bit of fairy dust left behind when

a gossamer wing happened to brush the moss.

My eyes were sharper then and I did glimpse my fair

share of Fae Folk. With all the earnest truth of
a child's fairy tale dreams.

I would sit very still for hours

quietly weaving chains of dandelions and

dreaming of the fairy's......

This is a slip from the ancient forests of Redwood
It thrives in my kitchen window.....and waits.....

If you are a person who seeks the fairy, you
will have probably noticed certain children have the
faery aura about them. This is difficult for most to see,
but if you concentrate you can see them for who they are....
the spirit of fairy strong within these little people....

They do grow up, but they still have that glow

These jars sit in my work room, please note

'no fairy folk were harmed' in their making.

My Blog is named for the Fae

These figurine's sit through all the seasons in

my garden to let the folk know they are welcome here

When a Door Closes.....

My Dad would tell me when I was feeling bad about something that was over...

"When One
Door Closes
Another One Opens"

this isn't a new idea, but is so very true.

I love doors, especially ancient ones. I am not sure why the fascination.

When I holiday I take photos of other peoples doors,

abandon building doors.
They paint a picture in my mind far beyond what I see...I can hear the echo of peoples voices of time gone before,
babies being born....children laughing, entire generations who lived and dreamed behind those doors..who entered with love and left with sadness...

Sometimes it is I who close the door for various reasons.....

the baby is sleeping and needs quiet....

the room is a mess and I don't want to see it, there is a

memory there I don't want to deal with
....the bathroom,

I always close the bathroom door, it is a privacy issue

I cannot sleep with my bedroom door open, it has to be

closed......I can see a storm is coming and it will protect my house to shut it out......closing the door on a friendship that wasn't what you thought it was, is sometimes

the only way to keep your dignity ......

So many doors, each with its own unique story of who
crossed the threshold and with what intention.....There are people who will grace your doorway with their kindness and light....and people who will darken it with bad intention and selfishness....

I want to be the light carrier....

Some doors just look like they

would be too much fun to open

...a treasure waits inside I am sure

even if only a feast for the eyes

Perhaps it is just the story I make

up about who lived there and how

they loved and laughed and cried

.....The disrepair of some doors

tells me that many have opened and

shut this same door...each with their

own reason.....

I have probably opened more doors than I have closed

.....I can walk out of a room and leave the door open.....this is not to say those left inside

have not slammed it behind me.....I say all is as

it should be if that is the case.....Some doors have

been slammed so forcefully they come off their

hinges....nothing will fix those doors.....

Still there have been times when I have left and

the house doesn't know I am gone.....

There are doors I want to visit...like this ancient door it the side of a stone house....How many feet have trod this path and paused at this door...do you think whomever built it had any idea the enchantment it would hold for generations to come? Ah, but alas the door is closed and the answers will never be revealed ....

I think I would beg to be allowed through this door way......

So finally here is my favorite door today....
You can see it was once beautiful in its brand new state....I think it is even more beautiful with its layers and layers of paint, peeling and cracked. Every coat adding a richness and depth....some doors have no depth to them...they are shallow...You can see this door has kept the weather out, provided shelter, allowed for the light to shine through.....It has been opened and closed so many times it doesn't shut tight....and that is okay too. I am heading towards the light....knock on my door I will invite you in.......

But soon that table is going to be part of my new

larger desk space and 'Happy Place '

Where Was It? What Was It?

What is that?

This has been stored at my parents

'Farm' for years

It was very dusty, took me 2 hours

just to get the

first film of sediment off

a lot of elbow grease and

some Swedish oil...

and we have.....

The new Ribbon Rack

In its original life

it was a string holder

to be used with a Weavers Loom

You can still see the bit

of string on one spool

In its new life,

it is going to be my fantastic

new ribbon holder.

It is really quite tall and

I am very excited to have

this antique

I will treasure it always

P.S. she has offered me

the loom too...

Hmmm...I am plotting,

it is a large piece...
